Erika Baikoff

Erika Baikoff dedicated her life to the arts from a very young age. Growing up, she played the violin and studied ballet at pre-professional levels. She began her vocal studies at LaGuardia High School of Music and Art and Performing Arts in New York, whilst privately studying with Lorraine Nubar.

Early on in her studies, Ms. Baikoff gained recognition for her singing. In 2013, she was the recipient of the Bouchaine Young Artist Scholarship at the Mondavi Center Young Artists Competition and invited to perform a recital featuring works by Sergei Rachmaninoff at the Napa Valley Festival del Sole with pianist Vadym Kholodenko and cellist Nina Kotova. That same year, she was also awarded Second Place in the New York Lyric Opera Competition and the Songfest Classical Singer Scholarship award, which she later returned to in 2016 as a Schubert Fellow.

Upon graduating LaGuardia, Ms. Baikoff went on to purse an AB in French Language and Culture at Princeton University. Whilst at Princeton, she often performed lead roles with the Princeton Opera Company and worked with contemporary composers on new art song and opera.

She was an active member in the dance and theater communities on campus, always looking for new ways to combine her love of all three art forms with her academic interests. During the summers, she continued her vocal development at programs such as the International Vocal Arts Institute, Songfest, and Chautauqua Institute.

Most recently, Ms. Baikoff was awarded the Founders Prize at the Mondavi Center Young Artists Competition, the Audience Prize at the Art Song Preservation Society Mary Truman Competition, and the Paul Hamburger Prize by Graham Johnson at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She is a member of the Lyon Opera Studio for the 2018/2019 season, where she will be singing the role of Juliet in Boris Blacher’s Romeo and Juliet. She currently resides in London, where she studies with Prof. Rudolf Piernay. In her free time, Ms. Baikoff is an avid horseback rider, competing in showjumping events.
